Rachel has been an occupational therapist for 10 years (in May). She graduated from UTHSC with a master’s in occupational therapy in 2013; that same year she started working for Blount Memorial Hospital at their outpatient pediatric clinic. The clinic sees children from birth to 21 years. Throughout her career she has also worked PRN with adults to be a more well rounded clinician. She has worked in acute care, in-patient rehab, and transitional care. She has also been known to moonlight at the transitional care center to help the CNAs when they are short staffed. Rachel has always loved working with infants, with the help of one of the SLPs she works with, Rachel was able to be introduced to lactation in her clinic setting. She received her CLS in February of 2022. Rachel adores working with the breastfeeding dyad, She has also taken more courses in bottle feeding, and bodywork to compliment lactation. Her goal is to continue learning and go on to obtain my IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant).
