This course will introduce you to the exciting world of travel therapy. For many, travel therapy is mysterious. Information is not widely known about what travel positions entail and, sadly, misinformation abounds. This course will provide a basic understanding of what travel therapy is and how it is structured. The presenter will detail important terminology and the positives and negatives of a travel career. In addition, the course will discuss traveler pay and benefits and explain how circumstances outside of the therapy world, such as the current pandemic, can affect the availability of travel jobs. Finally, the presenter will use her own experience working multiple travel contracts for several companies, to provide valuable insight into how to begin and succeed as a traveling therapist. Presenter: Dr. Amanda La Bonte, OTD, OTR/L, ECHM
After the completion of this course, students will:
