This course provides up-to-date evidence on effective strategies for supporting older adults in aging in place. It explores the unique experiences and challenges of remaining at home while managing common impairments and diagnoses associated with aging. While traditional aging-in-place approaches emphasize home modifications, occupational therapists must also consider broader factors that influence an individual’s ability to live independently. This course examines the effects of social isolation and mental health on aging, and the critical role of occupational engagement in maintaining a fulfilling and independent life at home.
