Brand New Webinar

This premier offering of this webinar is being offered exclusively in the Just for OT Subscription.

Future offerings will be made available for individual purchase as well as included in the Just for OT subscription.

This webinar will be held on Zoom.

Delivering occupational therapy in early intervention requires a different kind of clinical reasoning than most occupational therapy practitioners were taught in school. Sessions happen in family homes, and unpredictable schedules, using whatever materials happen to be available.  All of this occursl while balancing child engagement, caregiver coaching, documentation, and real life.

This course moves beyond activity ideas to explore what skilled, occupation-centered practice actually looks like in early intervention sessions. Participants will learn how to structure an entire home visit, from the moment of walking through the door to writing documentation that reflects clinical reasoning, while using play, routines, and caregiver coaching as purposeful therapeutic tools.

Through practical case examples, participants will build confidence responding to common challenges including child avoidance, wandering, sibling interractions, parent participation, and homes with limited resources. Participants will also learn how to clearly communicate the value of occupational therapy using language grounded in the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework.
Whether you are new to early intervention or looking to strengthen confidence as a home-based clinician, this course provides practical frameworks to be applied in the very next visit.

Target Audience: Occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, occupational therapy students

This occupational therapy continuing education course uses the following instructional methods: visual aides (ie slides), discussion board, guided note taking, and learning, and practice opportunities.
