We will begin by defining and describing obesity and commonly prescribed interventions through the lens of the medical literature. We will critique the medical model approach to obesity and explore an alternatives to these approaches including Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating. We will conclude occupational therapy evaluation and intervention strategies designed to promote health through meaningful engagement in daily activities while respecting body diversity and addressing weight stigma.
