Engagement in meaningful occupations occurs at the interplay of the student, the context, and the occupation for school-aged children. OT practitioners can support meaningful engagement by assessing and addressing occupational performance including sensory-motor aspects as it relates to the school environment and then creating a sensory-motor smart environment that best meets student needs for positive outcomes.
