This course will help OT practitioners learn about pelvic health in relationship to the OT practice framework and across the lifespan in various populations.

The instructor believes many OT practitioners are already doing pelvic health just not calling it that. There is a capacity issue in pelvic health and there are not enough practitioners treating in this space. And everyone has a pelvis. As Alison Stover our current OT president stated it best, “ If the pelvic floor is not healthy, there is no occupation we can perform”.

The instructor hopes to bring awareness to the importance of incorporating pelvic health into several practice areas to set clients up for success. She will be providing basic knowledge and education on how to ask questions to clients regarding their pelvic health to address or to know when to refer out

Target Audience: Occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, occupational therapy students
