This course will explore telehealth and information technologies and discuss their appropriateness in delivery of telehealth occupational therapy services. 

Target Audience: Occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, occupational therapy students.

Benefits of this course
After this occupational therapy continuing education course, the learner will be able to:
  • Compare and contrast telecommunication and information technologies appropriate for synchronous and asynchronous telehealth service delivery
  • Identify principles of communication with the client, healthcare team, and client’s assistant when using a telehealth service delivery model, such as context, coaching, verbal and non-verbal strategies, therapeutic use of self, and rapport building.
  • Recognize and explain culturally diverse values and beliefs that may influence a telehealth therapy session

In order to receive the certificate of completion, participants must meet ALL of the following criteria:
  • Full payment to enroll in course
  • View course videos in entirety
  • Pass the course exam with a score of 80% or greater
Please note that no credit or certificate will be issued unless all criteria is met.  Partial credit will not be issued.
