Have you ever experienced a client with difficulties in emotional regulation or tolerating adverse events? Maybe a client with decreased frustration tolerance when learning adaptive dressing strategies, or the client with significant fall anxiety as they work on functional mobility post hip fracture. The adult clients that you are frequently encountering across a variety of settings can often benefit from sensory intervention strategies to assist them in managing their emotions in relation to chronic pain, mental health difficulties, and significant habit, role, and routine changes. This course will instruct you in sensory strategies and the evidence behind them for adult populations. Sensory intervention is far more than integration practices used in pediatrics, let’s explore how we can apply this unique area of OT to our adult clients as well.

Target Audience: Occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, occupational therapy students
