This course will review best practice regarding child transportation safety. It will include basic information on child passenger safety, including commercial and adaptive options. Adaptive child passenger restraints will include large medical seats, adaptive booster seats, safety vests, car beds, and transportation in a wheelchair.
The course will describe a model for adaptive transportation assessment and service provision. Resources will be provided for therapists to develop skill in this area or to locate local resources for child passenger safety.
