If you're feeling burnt out, looking for more flexibility, want to deliver better care to patients, or hoping to spend more time with your family, private practice can offer a path forward — and this course is here to demystify that path, making it feel clear, manageable, and within reach.

This 1.5 hour webinar is designed for occupational therapy practitioners in Virginia who are interested in starting or growing a private practice. Whether you’re just beginning to explore the idea, considering a private practice side gig, already operate a cash-pay model, or manage an insurance-based clinic, this session will walk you through the key steps to move forward with confidence. In this three-part course, you’ll learn how to launch, get paid, and grow your occupational therapy practice in Virginia.

We’ll start with the essentials—choosing a business structure, securing malpractice insurance, applying for your NPI and EIN, and setting up a business bank account. Next, we’ll walk through how to get paid, covering insurance vs. cash-pay, credentialing, and the systems you need for documentation, billing, and claims, as well as how insurance can help expand your reach. Finally, we’ll explore how to define your niche, build referral relationships, and grow a values-aligned practice at your own pace.

This course is for OT practitioners who want more autonomy and are curious about building something that works for their life — without having to figure it all out alone.
