Occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) play a crucial role in helping clients regain their prior level of functioning. When clients are hospitalized for various reasons, they often experience deficits that impact their ability to perform essential activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs). In the acute care setting, OTPs are responsible for evaluating clients, providing targeted interventions, and developing comprehensive plans and recommendations for post-hospital care. Our role extends to assessing clients' occupational performance while considering environmental factors, health conditions, and personal circumstances that affect their return to their previous living situation.
