This is the second in a series of webinars focused on trauma-informed care for the OT practitioner.  Participants do NOT have to complete the first webinar, Understanding Trauma as an OT Practitioner.

This webinar will be held on Zoom.

This course is designed to deepen the knowledge and skills of occupational therapy practitioners in addressing trauma within clinical settings. Participants will learn how to discuss trauma with clients using sensitive and appropriate techniques, fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic environment. The course will cover the importance of self-awareness in practitioners, helping them identify their own responses to trauma and understand the judicious use of personal disclosure when treating clients, specifically within the context of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

Target Audience: Occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, occupational therapy students

This occupational therapy continuing education course uses the following instructional methods: visual aides (ie slides), discussion board, guided note taking, and learning, and practice opportunities.
Content disclosure: This course does not exclusively focus on any specific product or service.

OT Course Participant

"I would highly recommend this course. The course was very interesting and the speaker made it easy to stay engaged, it felt like a very fast 2 hours!"

OT Student Course Participant

"I really appreciated her in depth information about the ACEs. I have extensively treated over 1000 adult patients with a history of trauma, and other practitioners and I spent very limited time, if any, focusing on ACEs."
